Aaron Dabney earned his Flight Instructor certificate in 2009, and has been an active instructor ever since. He has provided more than 5,000 hours of instruction in more than 30 models of aircraft, mentoring pilots from their first hour through becoming accomplished instructors themselves, and all points in between.
Aaron grew up in an aviation family. His maternal grandfather Joe was a World War II fighter pilot, and much of Aaron's childhood was spent in the family J-3 Cub with his grandfather or his uncle Mark. Aaron completed his first solo in that Cub in 1999 and is now its caretaker.
In 2013, he earned the prestigious Master Flight Instructor accreditation from the National Association of Flight Instructors. This accreditation requires a robust peer review process, and must be renewed every 2 years. To date, Aaron is the only Flight Instructor in Texas to have earned 6 consecutive accreditations.
He attended Baylor University where he earned a B.A. and later an M.S. in Education, and more importantly met his wife of 20 years Alisa. Aaron has served as an Adjunct Lecturer for Baylor's Aviation Sciences program since 2010, and is a member of the Board of Directors of National Association of Flight Instructors.
Each member of Waco Flight Training's instructional team is personally trained and mentored by Aaron.
